'Bud, Not Buddy' Response Ch 17-19

1) The surprise Eddie brought to the house for Bud was an alto saxophone.

2) Bud realized that the guest bedroom that Bud was staying in, actually belonged to his momma.

3) In the glove compartment in Mr. Calloway's Packard, Bud discovered rocks which at dates and counties on them. Just like the ones he took from his momma's drawer.

4) Mr. Calloway didn't visit his daughter Angela and grandson Bud because Angela ran away and Mr.Calloway didn't know where she was.

5) Mr. Calloway's daughter ran away because he was being mean to her.

6) I think that Mr. Calloway was so stubborn in accepting Bud because he didn't really trust him. He thought the Bud was just some kid from the streets who said that Mr. Calloway was his Dad. He always doubted him. Their relationship changed once he realized Bud was his grandson because the were both kin.

'Bud, Not Buddy' Response Ch 15-16

1) Bud thinks that the room used to be a girl’s room who is now dead beacause Miss Thomas told him that the girl was gone and in Bud's rule book, rule 28 is "Gone = Dead!". Therefore he thinks that she is dead.

2)I am sure that
Herman E. Calloway is not happy to have Bud at his home. I say this because on pg 179 it says, "You've got the rest of them fooled, but not me. There's something about you that I don't like." This shows it all.

3)On page 185, Miss Thomas says,
"I can’t believe you, you’ll take care of any stray dog wandering through this neighborhood, but when it comes to a child all of a sudden you have no sympathy." By saying this, she means that he is willing to care of anything except this child. He thinks that Bud is a fraud and doesn't like him. Herman E. Calloway lets everyone else in the house take care of him.

4)
On page 191 Eddie asks Bud: “….are you attached to the suitcase, or is it the things inside that are important?” Eddie asks Bud this because they don't want him to be carrying such a raggedy suitcase everywhere. Bud replies that he is attached to the things inside it hence Eddie gave him his alto saxophone case as Bud's new suitcase.

5)The band members give Bud the name 'Sleepy LaBone'. There are two main parts to this, sleepy and la bone. They used the words 'sleepy' in there because Bud woke up at half past twelve in the afternoon and la bone as he is very skinny.

Yanomamis

This is quite an interesting tribe. It is one of the biggest tribes in South America. Sometime in the past, the yanomamis found out that there was gold underground. They started to cut down trees and dig underground. People called this the gold rush.

Adolesence Interview Blog Response

I have discovered a lot about the period of adolescence over generations. There are lots of similarities and differences. One similarity is that both generations hang out with friends all the time. In those days they had to meet up to talk but now the difference is that people talk through a phone or through an internet service (e.g. MSN, Google Talk, Skype, etc.). It is more of an indoor life now. We would rather play on the computer, PS3, or other accessories instead of going outdoor and doing some sports. It is more of a indoor generation these days and this all because of all the new inventions. Teenagers these days are a lot lazier than those in the last generation. Inventions are to blame. Well one can't say whether life was easier or harder in the past generation compared to this generatins as they have their own Pros and Cons. This generation is much more fun with technology but we get too addicted to the mordern games that we forget about sports. In the last generation, one was a lot more fitter but life as fun as it is now.

Trip to FRIM!

In FRIM we traveled in pretty big groups. It got a bit uncomfortable in some activities because there were too many people with different ideas and it got all messy sometimes. I like being around people because you get to mix with different people and do fun things. I felt safe at night because there were so many people around me.I didn't like it too because there was little privacy. There were times when I felt like sitting alone in a corner because I got tired of so many people. Since there were so many people, some finished lunch early and started playing soccer and made me spill my milo over my t-shirt. In the end, being around loads of people has its Pros and Cons.

My Qoute

"Trouble is only opportunity in work clothes."
- Henry J. Kaiser

If one can manage trouble, one can get benefit out of it. One must see all the aspects of the trouble and see how they can change it into an advantage. If one is in trouble, their minds thinks in ways that it would never do. The mind will start think more creatively and there you go, you thought hard and gained the opportunity of being creative. An example would be me going through the trouble of writing this paragraph (it is not easy) and in return I get a opportunity to sharpen my mind. One can also gain an opportunity to gain experience from all troubles.
